Formed in Madrid in 2011, Hinds channel the sound of the Velvet Underground, the Modern Lovers and Glasgow’s C86 scene, a resolutely lo-fi sound built on louche lyricism and rattling semi-acoustic guitars, with a pulsing rhythmic backing and gorgeous harmonies which have roots in the production of Phil Spector. Formerly named Deers, the all-female quartet have earned support from the Pastels, Primal Scream and Mac DeMarco, and are currently working on the follow-up to last year’s debut record Leave Me alone.
