We all have a nationality.
For some, it’s like eye-colour. For others it’s a straitjacket.
For some, it fits the borders of a state. Others want to draw new borders so they fit.
Some people have it taken away against their will.
Some reject nationality altogether. I know I’ve wanted to.
But I’m wondering about whether that’s the right thing to do. If I reject it, I wonder who I’m handing power to. And what they might do with it.
When people talk about ‘national values’, I wonder what they really mean.
Status is me talking, and maybe singing, about all that.
